Norm Hann Expeditions – Great Bear Rainforest Documentary Video
We wanted to share this amazing documentary video about Norm Hann’s 400km Stand Up Paddleboard expedition along the proposed north coast oil tanker route in British Columbia. Norm Hann is a Paddle Canada surf and coastal instructor trainer based in Squamish BC. Norm stood up for the Great Bear Rainforest and fought to keep oil tankers off our coastline. The goal of the expedition was to bring awareness to the traditional food harvesting areas of the First Nations and the incredible marine ecosystems of the Greatbear Rainforest.
His work in the Great Bear Rainforest as a guide, educator and coach led to a special relationship with the community of Hartley Bay. In 2006 he was adopted into the Gitga’at First Nation and given the name T’aam Laan which means “Steersman of the Canoe.”
Most recently he was part of the award winning Standfilm project which was highlighted with his 350km long sup expedition from Old Masset to the totems of the UNESCO World Heritage site Sgang Gwaay.
