New Double Atoll Adventure in Belize

14-Lighthouse Getaway-009.jpg

Last year we invited past guests to join us in Belize for a special departure that visited Lighthouse and Glovers Reef.  The feedback we got was amazing, and the idea was born to develop a ‘double atoll adventure’.  People loved being able to snorkel, sea kayak and explore these two remote reef systems in the same week!

This season we are excited to introduce our brand new Double Atoll Adventure.  This all-inclusive trip combines these two spectacular coral atolls with an overnight jungle stay in the lush rainforests of Southern Belize.  Guests can snorkel, paddle and discover Glover’s and Lighthouse Reef by day, with evenings spent in safari-style tent cabanas at our Adventure Basecamps.

Imagine wandering from the Half Moon Caye dining pavilion, coffee in hand, and visiting the nesting site of 4000 red-footed boobies!  These island Basecamps are ideally positioned for exploring these difficult to access protected marine reserves and UNESCO world heritage sites.  Try some kayak sailing, fishing, or Stand Up Paddleboarding…or just relax in a hammock with a good book!

Highlights of the trip include paddling/snorkeling excursions to ‘The Aquarium’ and Captain Jacques Cousteau’s renowned Blue Hole.  This adventure also includes a rainforest canopy zip line or bird walk at Bocawina Rainforest Eco-Resort, an off-the-grid jungle lodge in Mayflower Bocawina National Park.

This nine night Classic Trip begins with a rendezvous in Belize City, and we are offering scheduled departures from January through April 2015.

November is a wonderful month to visit Belize. Although the rainy season still lingers in early November, by the end of the month the dry season has often arrived.
