Belize is one of the most unique and exciting adventure travel destinations in Central America. If exploring Belize's stunning coral reefs and ancient Mayan ruins isn't enough for you, you can zipline through the rainforest canopy, rappel 250 ft down a waterfall or whitewater kayak on the Moho River.

Here are 5 Belize adventures guaranteed to get your adrenaline pumping:

Experience Belize's Longest Zipline

The longest zipline in Belize is located in the heart of the Mayflower Bocawina National Park. Thrill seekers will not be disappointed as this zipline course has 14 platforms, 9 different runs, is 2.5 miles long and the longest single run is 2,300 feet. For the ultimate adrenaline rush, try a nighttime zipline tour. At night you will hear the rainforest come alive as you zip through the jungle with experienced guides.

A Must For the Bucket List:  Waterfall Rappelling in the Mayflower Bocawina National Park

Are you looking to test your courage? Then experience rappelling down a waterfall in Belize!  Start your day with an incredible hike to the top of the 1,000 ft Antelope Falls and enjoy the magnificent views of the rainforest and the Caribbean Sea in the distance. Before the rappel down, you will have time to cool off and swim in the emerald pools. Antelope Falls is a two-pitch rappel down 250ft of gushing water. Before you rappel downwards, you will be given a safety talk on how to use all the equipment.

The Ultimate Rush: Whitewater Kayaking on the Moho River

The Moho River is located in the Toledo District of Belize.  If you are searching for an epic Belize river adventure, kayaking down this river is a must do.  On this guided expedition, you will explore the river in an inflatable kayak and paddle over drops, chutes and small falls. Between navigating the rapids you will have ample opportunity to spot iguanas, howler monkeys and birds in the trees on the river banks.

The Black Hole Drop

The Black Hole Drop is a must do Belize activity for adrenaline seekers. This adventure starts off with a hike into the foothills of the Maya Mountains. You will arrive at the edge of the Actun Loch Tunich sink hole, which sits over 300 feet above the basin below and 200 feet above the rainforest canopy that grows out from the sink hole basin.  Caving guides will then rig a system of rappelling ropes for your descent to the basin below.

Lionfish Hunting

Get your adrenaline rushing on the hunt for the invasive lionfish. The lionfish is a non-native species in the Caribbean Sea, it has no natural predators and the best control method is to kill and eat it!  Arm yourself with a speargun and a snorkel and help keep the lionfish numbers down. Lionfish are also healthy and delicious to eat. Guides at the Glover’s Reef Basecamp and Lighthouse Reef Basecamp will be happy to show you the best way to hunt for lionfish and prepare a gourmet dinner featuring your freshly caught lionfish.
