Meals and Accommodation at Glover’s Reef

Our Glover’s Reef Basecamp is located on the east side of Southwest Caye, to take advantage of the easterly trade winds that blow off the Caribbean Sea. To the back of the camp there is a shared modern composting toilet system, as well as a central shower building with fresh-water showers. The safari style tents are aligned along the eastern point to take in the cooling ocean  breeze.

The Basecamp is run primarily on solar and wind generated energy, with a small generator to supplement or recharge batteries when necessary. The dining pavilion is the center of all social activities and meals on the island. There is a resource library, games, and always drinks and juices on hand when you are thirsty.

Perched over the water, there is a thatch-roofed hammock palapa, which is a great spot to read a book and enjoy the breeze. This is a perfect area for early morning yoga sessions, or a place to get out of the sun in a nice covered environment.

Glover's Reef Atoll is thought to be the richest marine environment in the entire Caribbean Sea. Within Glover's Reef is a shallow lagoon with over 700 patch reefs.  This lagoon is unsurpassed for snorkeling, sea kayaking, Stand-Up-Paddleboarding, Scuba diving and fishing. All activities are included when staying at our Glover’s Reef Basecamp.
